Big Mom, also known as Charlotte Linlin, was born on Elbaf Island approximately 68 years ago. She is the captain of the Big Mom Pirates and one of the Four Emperors of the New World in the anime/manga series "One Piece".
Big Mom was born into the Charlotte family, which is known for its many talented chefs and confectioners. Her parents are Charlotte Linlin Sr. and Carmel. She inherited her parents' physical appearance, with her father's size and her mother's curly hair.
As a child, Big Mom was already known for her immense strength and her love for food. She had a habit of eating everything in sight, which led to her becoming even larger. This, coupled with her violent tendencies, caused her to be feared by all the residents of Elbaf Island.
When Big Mom was six years old, she was taken in by Mother Carmel, a nun who took care of orphans. Big Mom grew close to Carmel and her fellow orphans, but her uncontrollable appetite led to a tragic incident. During a feast, Big Mom ate all the food intended for the guests, including Mother Carmel and the other orphans. She had a mental breakdown after realizing what she had done, causing her to forget the entire incident and the people involved.
Despite her traumatic childhood, Big Mom became a successful pirate and established her own pirate crew, the Big Mom Pirates. She also created Whole Cake Island, a large island dedicated entirely to her love of sweets and desserts. She is a formidable opponent and is known for her unique abilities, such as her powerful Homies and her Devil Fruit ability, the Soul-Soul Fruit.
Throughout the series, Big Mom's past and the events leading up to her becoming a pirate have been revealed. Her younger years play a significant role in understanding her character and motivations.
